Bio

Dr.Surapaneni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Internal Medicine. She holds a public health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr.Surapaneni’s area of interest is climate change and its impact on human health. At the AHC, she works with an interprofessional group of climate champions on educating students about climate and health. Dr.Surapaneni is the climate champion for the medical school. She is also involved in advocating for climate policies that positively impact health. She was invited to provide expert testimony at the Minnesota State Capitol on the health impacts of climate change. As a science communicator, she works in giving regular talks at both to students and the general public about how climate impacts health, and was recently interviewed by MPR.She is currently working on a research project to develop mobile technology that helps deliver environmental health messaging to patients in a personalized fashion
