Bio

Rafael S. Andrade, MD, MHA, is a thoracic and foregut surgeon who uses empathy and excellence to guide interactions with patients. His clinical interests include thoracic surgery, esophageal surgery and tracheomalacia. Dr. Andrade strives to put himself in every patient's shoes and his goal is to offer each patient the safest and most advanced care. His research interests include sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis, endobronchial ultrasonography, diaphragmatic plication and esophageal mucosal resection. Dr. Andrade is also an associate professor in the Department of Surgery and Chief in the Division of Thoracic and Foregut Surgery at University of Minnesota Medical School.
