Bio

Michael C. Park, MD, PhD, is a neurosurgeon who works with patients suffering from movement disorders (Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and dystonia), epilepsy, depression and pain. Dr. Park sees patients at the M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center - Minneapolis, Neurosurgery Clinic, and performs his surgeries at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, where he specializes in neuromodulation. He performs numerous treatments, including but not limited to, deep brain stimulation, lesionectomy, amygdalohippocampectomy, response neural stimulation, vagus nerve stimulation, laser ablation, spinal cord stimulation and gamma knife radiosurgery. He is an Associate Professor with the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Neurosurgery and he is the Neurosurgery Department's Residency Program Director. He is also the Director of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. From a research standpoint, Dr. Park focuses primarily on neuromodulation (deep brain stimulation) and he is a collaborator, Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator in numerous active, ongoing projects in that field. In addition, he is a Clinical Core Co-Investigator for the U of M’s Udall Center of Excellence for Parkinson's Disease Research.
