Bio

Andrew Olson, MD, is a hospitalist who practices hospital medicine and pediatric care at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center. He is an Assistant Professor of medicine and pediatrics in the University of Minnesota Medical School Department of Medicine’s Division of General Internal Medicine. He is also the director of the Medical School’s subinternship in critical care. Dr. Olson’s academic focus is on the development of methods to teach the diagnostic process and to improve diagnostic reasoning in clinical care. He is the leader of the DX: Diagnostic Excellence Project, which is developing and evaluating a series of virtual patient cases for medical students about the diagnostic process and diagnostic error.
