Each year, thousands of Twin Cities children receive a warm coat for the winter from the Salvation Army Coats for Kids program. More than 334,000 coats have been donated over the program’s 30 years.
As a partner, our organization has identified designated drop-off sites for University of Minnesota Physicians and University of Minnesota employees to donate. Employees can support this initiative by bringing new or gently-used coats and/or winter accessories (mittens, gloves, hats, snow boots, snow pants, etc.) for children of all ages.
Employee drop-off locations include the staff lounge at the University of Minnesota Physicians Corporate Office building located at 720 Washington Ave, the staff entrance in the northeast corner of the M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center and the third-floor entrance of the University of Minnesota Mayo Building near the Delaware Circle.
The bins are available for coat drop-off through Dec. 27, 2019.
If you or someone in your family is in need of a coat and/or winter accessories, we encourage you to contact the Salvation Army at 651-746-3412. They will help direct you to a location near you.
