University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) is excited to welcome Runjhun Nanchal as its new Chief Operating Officer. Her role includes leading clinical operations, process improvement and facility management for all M Physicians' entities.

Runjhun’s experiences are diverse and relevant to M Physicians’ future goals, making her poised to deliver a positive impact on the organization. Previously, she served as Senior Administrator/Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Banner Health's Academic Division in Tucson, AZ. She was responsible for clinical and administrative operations, practice acquisition and new openings, business analytics and performance improvement.

“Runjhun is an accomplished healthcare executive with an extensive background in leading hospital and ambulatory service line operations,” said Badrinath Konety, MD, MBA, CEO, M Physicians. “Her proven record of executing operational strategy to implement physician-led programs, achieve positive financial results, improve employee engagement and patient experience will serve our organizations well.”

During her time at Banner, Runjhun oversaw the opening of a $100 million, 200,000-square foot ambulatory tower in Tucson, and established the region's first consolidated referrals management team. In addition, Runjhun brings with her broad experience in effective change management, centers of excellence development and physician revenue cycle operations.

“Through our partnership in the Joint Clinical Enterprise, Runjhun will work with Dr, Konety and I closely,” said Laura Reed, RN, DNP, Chief Nursing Executive and Chief Operating Officer of Fairview Health Services. “She will play a critical role spanning our organizations and working with us to bring service line strategies to life in a meaningful way for our patients and teams, ensuring the effective delivery of all aspects of our shared operations.”

Runjhun will begin her new role with M Physicians on August 5, 2019.
