The two-day conference will focus on a wide variety of emerging ideas in health professions, with special attention on how to successfully implement active learning strategies in existing programs. Activities will include highly interactive plenary sessions, workshops, and a poster session.
Health Science educators, learners, trainees, and staff.
Following completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:
- Identify key strategies for incorporating active learning into health professions education programs
- Identify and discuss modern best practices for classroom and clinical pedagogy
- Collaborate and learn together with educators across the continuum of health professions education.
Active Learning 101
Active learning can be broadly defined as learner engagement and participation in the learning process. It can include a range of in-class activities, assessment, and reflection. The workshop is designed to accommodate instructors with a mix of experiences; from those with no history with active learning to instructors seeking to incorporate new strategies to their courses.
